Breda began a mission to create awareness around the many little-known benefits of decluttering in the areas of relationships, family, home, social, health and wellbeing, finance and career in 2010. Championing ‘Declutter to feel good’, Breda is author of Declutter Therapy, founder of the yearly National Declutter Day and International Declutter Day and a regular contributor to TV, radio and print media. Her work has also been proudly featured by Psychologies magazine and reviewed by the Women’s Institute (WI) Global Annual.
Helping students and clients all around the world to declutter physically, mentally and emotionally and truly “LET IT GO”, Breda is creator of The Declutter Academy for professional decluttering and organising training and other online decluttering courses.

The difference between decluttering and organising
Most people confuse decluttering with organising, but they are actually two very different skills. Where organising is putting systems in place for the items you love and want to keep, I see decluttering as the ability to “let go” of clutter – that which doesn’t serve you or make you feel good. I’ve worked with so many clients who are excellent organisers but find it very difficult to declutter, and this is how I used to be myself! It’s this small but vital distinction, along with countless other misconceptions and misunderstandings about decluttering, that I’m so passionate about sharing with my students and clients so they can enjoy true decluttering success.
