Many people confuse decluttering with organising, but they are actually two very different skills. Where organising is putting systems in place for the items you love and want to keep, I see decluttering as the ability to “let go” of clutter – that which doesn’t serve you or make you feel good. I’ve worked with so many clients who are excellent organisers but find it very difficult to declutter, and this is how I used to be myself! It’s this small but vital distinction, along with countless other misconceptions and misunderstandings about decluttering, that I’m so passionate about sharing with my students and clients so they can enjoy long-term freedom from clutter.
